On My Way to the Holy Land

Jerusalem at night (Noam Chen/TOI)
Today is a travel day. My wife and I currently on a non-stop flight from O’Hare to Ben Gurion. First time we have ever done that.  Hopefully it will live up to all the hype people have been saying about it. My daughter took this flight earlier this year and said it was a  game changer!

Chicago has not had non-stop flights to Israel in a long time. It was always such a pain to have to stop mid way at some airport in Europe and wait there for a few hours before we completed travel. You guys in New York don’t know how easy you have had it.  Now we will be getting a bit of the same.

We will be in Israel for Pesach. Specifically in Ramat Bet Shemesh (Aleph) where my son and his family live. This is our first trip to Israel since COVID. We have not been there for over 2 years. We missed the weddings of 2 of our grandchildren as a result. And we have not yet met their spice (spouses?) and their 2 daughters, Naama and Esther  – our great grandchildren (except on face time and Zoom). We are really excited and eagerly looking forward to meeting these new members of our family. Can’t wait.

If you are in the neighborhood, during my stay in Ramat Bet Shemesh, come on over and say hi.

Hope to continue posting tomorrow.
