I received this e-mail from a reader:
Isn't it strange that Rav Malkiel Kotler prominently signed the "Takonos" limiting weddings to 400 people and a "small" band, last night by his daughters wedding there were 5000 people and a 10 piece band?
The above e-mail was forwarded to me by a source with impeccable credentials. Apparently this e-mail was a gross exageration. People who were there say that the band was only a five piece band, not a 10 piece as the e-mail states. Also, the huge numbers there... were not invited and seated guests. The actual number of seated guests is now repoorted to be just in excess of 1000 people. While that still exceeded the guidlines, it is certainly a reasonable number for the Rosh HaYeshiva of Lakewood. They rest of the people there were apparently mostly well wishers who came to say Mazel Tov to the RY and perhaps participated in the dancing as well. This is not only perfectly acceptable but even laudable.
If this is the correct version the story which I am now strongly inclined to believe,I apologize to all concerned.
