Doing the Right Thing is Costly - But Right Nonetheless

Crucial ideals to the revolution (Iran Observer)
I wish it were someone else.  But we have no choice. We have to play the hand were dealt. In this case it is about the man who despite his many flaws is doing the right thing in the Middle East. President Trump has tackled one of the biggest foreign policy issues of our time. Iran.

The US has finally chosen to deal with Iran in the only way they understand. With strength. He has threatened to use the full military might of the United States against Iran if they taunt us any further. He threw down the gauntlet at that rouge nation by killing their top terrorist and dared them to respond.

And respond they did. At least with some very threatening rhetoric. Whether they follow it up with actions that will match their words remains to be seen. If there is any sanity left in their world they will not. They must know that even their vaunted Revolutionary Guard is nowhere near a match for American military might.

But that hasn’t stopped them from their saber rattling rhetoric. They want revenge against us for killing their chief terrorist. And they want the American people to know that if we go to war with them, they will inflict heavy casualties against us. What they must however realize is that their casualties will make ours seem light by comparison.

Will sanity prevail? Hard to tell when talking about a fanatic nation that believes that God will protect them and bring them to victory because of the righteousness of their cause.

Does that mean we are on the brink of war? I hope not. But it wouldn’t shock we if we were. If that happens it will be painful. And that kind of pain is something most Americans are not ready for. Many probably see this as an unnecessary escalation that could have been avoided if only we continued along the peaceful diplomatic lines of the predecessor administration. As do Democrats and the rest of the world.

The country is indeed divided about his issue. Left wing protesters are up in arms about this and have been screaming bloody murder. And while not quite as venomous as those protesters, Democrats in the house are singing virtually the same tune. They blame the President and all his men for this because they broke the Nuclear deal with Iran. A deal that held their nuclear program abeyance for a while.

Now that the ante has been upped by ridding the world of one of its foremost terrorists, left wing protesters, Democrats and Iranian politicians are all saying the same thing. which is that we should have kept the deal. It’s all trump’s fault.

But let us look at that deal. In essence that deal handed over the keys of terror to Iran. It gave them the money they needed to fund all their proxy wars in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen. Proxies established by the very terrorist we finally assassinated. While the US and the rest of the world looks the other way.

I find it sad that there are officials in our government that are on the same page with Iran on these issues.

As I said a few days ago, the time is long overdue to take care of the Iranian nemesis.  The only real way to solve this problem is with another Iranian revolution. Only this time by the good guys. Not the religious fanatics that held American diplomats and embassy employees hostage 40 years ago who now run the country now.

Back then Iran had a chance to be a democracy after the Shah was overthrown. But that lasted about a minute. The Islamist fanatics would have none of that. They quickly overthrew that short lived government and took over taking American hostages while shouting ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel’.

No, I am not a war monger. But unless we want Iran to keep succeeding at pursuing more power in the region by proxy and eventually try to eliminate our closest ally whose strategic value to the US these days is probably irreplaceable  - they need to be taken out. So yes, I believe it is high time for a regime change there.

The problem is that Democrats will never let that happen. They fear war more than they seem to care about Iran's increasing successes at taking over the Middle East by proxy. They are therefore desperate to go back to the status quo ante where Iran was coddled and given a free hand to do their evil deeds.

Ignoring all the damage that has already been done for the sake of a temporary halt to their nuclear pursuits at the coast of turning a blind eye to everything else they do is very short sighted. Which may end up haunting all of us in the not too distant future.

I am so sick of the free world looking the other way while Iran spreads terrorism to all parts of the Middle East. They fear the consequences of dealing with it? That is what defines cowardice! Leadership is what Washington needs now. Not cowardice - explained away by Democrats as diplomacy. Not when diplomacy leads to the kind of carnage Iran is now responsible for. The Europeans are cowards willing to hand over Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and eventually Saudi Arabia and Israel to Iran so that they can have ‘peace in our time’. That will not last very long and could come back to bite them. Once Iran takes over the Middle East by proxy, Europe will be next.

Thankfully the US under the Trump administration will have none of that. They tore up a nuclear deal that helped finance Iran’s spreading ways. And reimposed sanctions while Europeans and Democrats weeped for fear of the consequences to themselves.

Yes, there are consequences to what the Trump Administration is doing. But to ignore the consequences of their already bad acts is nothing to cheer about. By looking the other way while people in the Middle East die and give up their freedom, Europe might think they are being spared from that themselves. But that kind of thinking is what allowed Hitler take over Europe

It is time for the Democrats and the free world to act as one - with courage - and to tell Iran that they will no longer be tolerated as the rogue terrorist nation they are. And if they don’t change (and they won’t) - do whatever it takes to wipe that regime off the map.
