Draining the Swamp

Kash Patel (VIN)
One of the most troubling things about the mainstream media these days is how they are characterizing  the Trump appointments. You would think that his cabinet picks and those at other agencies will destroy the nation.

I will admit that at first I thought that some of his appointments were bizarre - shocking even. Some (like Rubio at State) were exactly what was needed.

It is easy to see what Trump is doing. And why. He is keeping his promise to clean out the swamp by choosing people that have been just as critical of the agencies they have been chosen to lead as Trump has. They were chosen precisely to shake things up.

With respect to the State Department - the agency that is most important with respect to the US relationship with Israel. While I wouldn't call what is going on there the 'Deep State' (I hate that term. It sounds too much like a conspiracy theory...) there is no question about the anti Israel bias that exists there at the core,

The Trump overhaul is good news. Their culture has been pretty much anti Israel since its very founding. That is going to change now that one of Israel's strongest supporters, Senator Marco Rubio will be heading it. But state is not the only department that is going to swept clean. There is apparently going to be a clean sweep in every government agency. And I am happy to see a lot of pro Israel people being chosen to to accomplish that are pro Israel. The latest of which is Kash Patel to head the FBI. As noted at VIN:

Kash Patel, who has been tapped as Trump’s choice for the next FBI director, recently made a statement calling for Americans to “wake up” and place a higher priority on supporting Israel. Patel emphasized the need for a strong partnership between the U.S. and Israel, stating that America’s security and global leadership depend on the nation’s commitment to its ally in the Middle East.

The mainstream media has not been taking any of this very well. They have been trying very hard to smear as many of Trump's choices a possible. As they just did with Patel. They have been painting these choices as grossly incompetent. Little more than a wrecking crew out to destroy the democracy these agencies have been protecting since they were founded.

Whether the accusations they are reporting against some of Trump's choices have any merit or not should come out at the Senate hearings. But one thing is certain. The media will make sure that their objections are made clear to members of the committee that will be vetting them.

I do not for a moment believe - as does much of the media - that conservative members of congress will harm the US by allowing the president to choose whomever wants to run those agencies. They are  patriots who want to see the US remain the leader of the free world in every respect. No matter how much the media tries to paint them as caring only about the rich while abandoning the poor and middle class.

They did quite well under the first Trump administration and will do well this time too. And if you are a Jew who cares about Israel. you should be quite pleased with his choices so far.
